Both Katz and Lynch attend New York University; she's studying sports business, he sports management.

Katz began skating at age 5 after begging her parents to take her ... Biggest influence in her life is her sister ... Biggest life-defining moment was when her sister was born ... If she weren't a skater, she'd want to be a writer or a politician ... Hobbies include reading, listening to music, going to the beach in the summer, taking long walks and cooking ... Wants to get her MBA in business and travel after she's done competing ... Has a passion for traveling ... Says she's not the most athletic person when it comes to sports other than skating ... Tore her posterior cruciate ligament in 2007 ... Broke her ankle and pulled the ligament off the bone in December 2009, forcing the team to withdraw from the U.S. Championships - "It was devastating especially since it was an Olympic year, and Joe and I had been skating really well." ... If she could have dinner with any one person, it would be President Obama - "I would invite my stepmom, and it would make her year. She is such a fan of his." ... Has donated her time to those affected by Hurricane Katrina and juvenile diabetes (which her cousin has) ... Likes any music that makes her want to dance.
