Herring began skating at age 8 because his older brother, Clint, 23, played hockey, and Kyle was always at the rink anyway ... Participated in the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program in 1997-98 ... Previously skated with Alexis Hauser, Isabella Cannuscio, Lauren Wlazelek and Ashley Sip ... Majoring in history at the University of Delaware ... Won numerous awards at Middletown High School (graduated May 2007), including History Student of the Year ... Teaches skating a few times a week ... Supports the ONE campaign and the Make Trade Fair campaign by donating and helping advertise and promote the organizations ... Hobbies include playing guitar, paintball, racing go-karts, writing music, playing video games and playing various sports ... Loved Vancouver, Canada, because it was the first international city to which he traveled ... Says his "rock and roll style" and individuality set him apart ...
