Best began skating at age 6 because her brothers played hockey and she wanted to skate with them ... Has a younger brother, Stephen, who plays hockey and football ... Participated in U.S. Figure Skating's Basic Skills Program from 1996-98 ... Former skating partners were Chelsea Young (1999-2000), Caitlin Wilson (2002-04) and Amanda Hrbacek (2004-05)...
