IN MY WORDS
If I wasn't a figure skater ... well, I can't imagine not being a figure skater because that is what I love. But I would probably be a gymnast because as a kid I loved gymnastics and was the level six state champion. Doing both sports was difficult but I wanted to pursue my skating career.
I look up to ... many people in my life who have supported me including my coach, parents, friends, choreographers, other athletes and my personal trainer.
My favorite thing about being a figure skater is ... competing and striving to be better. Skating is a difficult sport but also very rewarding. I love traveling and meeting new people and making lifelong friends!
My favorite thing about performaing is ... expressing my joy for skating in my programs, skating a great program and seeing the results of my training and hard work throughout the year.
After I'm done skating, I want to ... go to college and become a doctor. I'd also like to be in skating shows and benefits to help make a difference in the world.
My figure skating hero is ... I have too many heroes to list and I admire different qualities in each of the past and current U.S. champions.
The best moment of my figure skating career thus far was ... my first U.S. Championships experience and winning my novice title in 2011. Another great moment was representing Team USA at 2011 JGP Italy and winning the bronze medal.
My hobbies are ... skating, snowboarding, dancing and hanging out with my friends and family.
I always ... eat pasta each night before I compete. Also my coach, friends and I always do a clapping ritual. I also tie my skates the same way every time I get on the ice.
I manage my pre-skate jitters by ... mentally going through my program and walking through my jumps. I also like to warm up to my favorite music.
