IN MY WORDS

If I wasn't a figure skater ... I think I would want to be a gymnast. There's a lot of jumping and spinning in gymnastics that makes it similar to skating, plus I did gymnastics before I started skating.

I manage my pre-skate jitters by ... talking and moving around a lot. I like to stay distracted and warm, and I also have to drink coffee during my warm up. When I sit or don't talk, I start to think about the competition and I get really nervous, so I just keep myself distracted and active. While a lot of athletes like to stay focused before a competition, it's best for me to completely avoid it!

After I'm done skating, I want to ... become a nature photographer.

Something most people don't know about me is ... I love to draw and paint, and I really love birds!

I always ... eat a can of pineapple before my off-ice warmup at competition, and I have to drink coffee during the warm up. I also need a hug from my mom before I go to get on the ice. I also have two stuffed animals that I bring to every competition.
