Cassar started to skate at age 8 because his father played hockey at the Detroit Skating Club ... Participated in the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program ... Studies dance at Oakland University (Mich.) ... Volunteers once a week by teaching skating to Special Olympians ... In addition to the Special Olympics, also supports Relay for Life and the National Endowment for the Arts ... Works part time as a skating coach at his local rink ...
