Phan is the 2003 U.S. junior champion and 2004 Junior Grand Prix Final champion.

Phan began skating at the age of 8 after his mom took him skating to escape the desert heat ... Sprained his ankle in December 2004 and tore a ligament, therefore missing out on 2005 U.S. Championships and World Junior Championships ... Most prized possession is his national plate from his 2003 U.S. junior men's title ... Graduated from Palm Desert High School in 2003 ... Hobbies include the Internet, cars, movies, beaches and tennis ... After his skating career, would like to go to college and become an optometrist.
