Gedevanishvili is a two-time European bronze medalist and a two-time Olympian.

Began skating at 5 years of age at the Special Sports Center of Figure Skating with her former coach Tamara Anjaparidze ... When she was 10 years old, the Georgian figure skating federation encouraged her parents to send their daughter to Moscow for further training ... Starting in 2000, she trained in Moscow at the "CSKA" ice rink ... Began competing at the international level by the age of 14 ... Is the first Georgian to medal at a Junior Grand Prix event in figure skating ... Mother was deported to Georgia by Russian officials during the 2006-07 season ... After returning home with her mother, Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvilione personally presented Gedevanishvili with an "Order of Honor," one of the highest rewards the country bestows for high sport achievements ... Unable to return to Moscow, she relocated to the United States in December 2006 and began training with Galina Zmievskaya in Wayne, N.J. ... Contracted a case of whooping cough that went undiagnosed for several months and had to pull out from both of her 2006 Grand Prix events ... Moved to Hackensack, N.J., in the summer of 2007 and commenced training with Roman Serov ... Brother, Dmitri, who is three years younger, is a competitive alpine skier ... Hobbies include listening to music, reading, snowboarding and skiing.
