Vahamaa's hobbies include roller skating and snowboarding ... She burst onto the scene in her senior international debut, taking the gold ahead of several of her countrywomen at the 2007 Finlandia Trophy after her personal-best free skate; she also beat 2007 European champion Carolina Kostner at the Finlandia Trophy ... She also made the Finnish team for the 2008 European Championships, where she finished 10th.
