Began skating at the age of 6 ... Kept watching an Olympics skating video while "jumping" on his living room floor, and his parents finally took him to the rink ... Has an older brother, Sam, and a younger brother, Jon ... Studying business at George Mason University ... Overcame a sprained ankle right before the 2003 U.S. Championships - his first - to place third in junior men's, landing his first triple Lutz ... Not many people know that he's half-Sicilian and eats biscotti nearly every day - "It's my small cultural tie" ... Graduated W.T. Woodson High School in 2007 ... Member of the 2006 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Scholastic Honors Team, National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society ... Won the 2006 Champions in Life Award from the Youth Fitness and Education Association ... Placed third in the 2004 county Spanish poetry contest ...
