(07/17/2013) - Fan favorite Misha Ge has been working his way up the international ranks while winning legions of admirers with his over-the-top performance skills and blisteringly fast footwork. Ge finished 16th at the 2013 World Figure Skating Championships, and won the gold medal at the Denkova-Staviski Cup and the silver at the Warsaw Cup competitions.

Ge, 22, represents Uzbekistan, where his mother's family has ties. He lived in Russia until he was 10 and then in China for several years, and he is fluent in both Chinese and Russian. He divides his training between China and Los Angeles. Ge has been coached by his parents, Jun and Larisa, for his entire career.

The pronunciation of Ge's last name confuses rink announcers around the planet: It's a soft "g" and long "ee" sound, like "jee" or "ji." Of all the places you have lived, which is your favorite?

Ge: Both the U.S. and China. What's your favorite thing to do when you have time off?

Ge: Dance! I also like to spend time with friends and go fashion shopping. What's your favorite song or piece of music?

Ge: Everything that makes my body move! Of all your programs, competitive or show, which one is your favorite?

Ge: I will say every one, because when you make a program, it's like making a piece of art. We spend a lot of time picking and making it the best of we can, so that's why I have no "un"-favorite programs. Who is your favorite entertainer?

Ge: From Hollywood, I like the acting of Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp. From ice entertainers, I will say Johnny Weir and Daisuke Takahashi. Johnny is an icy, fashionable, glamorous pop star, and Daisuke is an icy, stylish, unique, humble star.
