Canada -- 7,824 points
USA -- 7,156 points
Japan -- 6,823 points
Russia -- 6,648 points
France -- 4,826 points
China -- 4,702 points
Each team will consist of two ladies, two men, one pair and one ice dancing couple. The scores of each team's skaters in the short programs/dance and free skates/dance will be added together, and the highest point total will win.
This will be the third World Team Trophy, with the two previous events also having taken place in Tokyo, in 2009 and 2012. An event was scheduled for 2011, also in Japan, but it was postponed after the March earthquake and tsunami.
The 2009 event featured the same six nations that will participate in 2013, with Team USA capturing the gold, Canada the silver and Japan the bronze. France, Russia and China filled out the last three spots, respectively.
In 2012, Japan emerged victorious, with Team USA snagging silver and Canada edging France for the bronze. Fifth and sixth went to Russia and Italy, respectively.
A team event will also be introduced at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games next February in Sochi, Russia.
