(02/04/2013) - U.S. Figure Skating announced Monday that Richard Dornbush will compete at the 2013 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, while Adam Rippon has withdrawn from the event due to injury. The 2013 Four Continents Championships are set for Feb. 6-11, 2013, in Osaka, Japan.

Dornbush will make his second consecutive Four Continents appearance. He most recently finished sixth at the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships last month in Omaha, Neb.

Rippon, who placed fifth at the 2013 U.S. Championships, sustained an ankle injury Saturday. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Dornbush will join 17 American athletes in Osaka, including five-time U.S. ice dancing champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White and 2013 pairs champions Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir. Max Aaron and Ross Miner, who finished first and second, respectively, at the 2013 U.S. Championships, will also compete in the men's event.
