The top two finishers at the competition will earn a trip to the 2013 World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships, March 8-9 in Helsinki, Finland. The World Junior Synchronized Championships was previously called the Junior World Challenge Cup (JWCC).
Results will be available on icenetwork.com.
The annual U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships are held about a week prior to the World Junior Synchronized Championships, which does not allow U.S. Figure Skating to use the event as a qualifier. The 2013 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships will be held Feb. 27-March 2, 2013, in Plymouth, Mich. As a result, the World Junior Team Selection Competition is held in January to determine the U.S. representatives at the World Junior Synchronized Championships.
The Skyliners placed first at the 2012 World Junior Team Selection Competition, while Team Braemar placed second. Team Braemar finished fourth and the Skyliners fifth at the 2012 Junior World Challenge Cup.
