(10/05/2012) - For 13-year-old Nathan Chen, dreams of making the Junior Grand Prix Final will have to wait another year.
Chen was forced to withdraw from JGP Croatia on Friday because of a lower leg injury, according to a U.S. Figure Skating statement. He registered a fourth-place finish in Thursday's short program.
The young phenom from Salt Lake City is unbeaten in major competitions since December 2008, capturing U.S. novice titles in 2010-11 and the junior crown in 2012. In his debut in the JGP Series, Chen won the gold medal in Linz, Austria three weeks ago by a whopping 36 points. He will no longer be eligible for the Junior Grand Prix Final after withdrawing in Zagreb.
