(08/17/2012) - The 2012 U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships began Wednesday evening with the official draw party hosted by the Yarmouth Ice Club. The draw party opened with a special award presentation to Patricia and Homer Hagedorn by the Yarmouth Ice Club and Weston Family. The Hagedorns were presented with the "Phoebe Weston Memorial Award" in acknowledgment of their contributions to skating -- specifically, the collegiate skating program, as they were instrumental in helping to start the Collegiate Championships many years ago.

Following the award presentation, each group of competitors took turns drawing the skating order for their short programs; they randomly picked a college pennant, which included the start orders on the back of the pennant.
