"It was planned," said Leonova. "Before the beginning of ladies free skate, I decided to kiss the ice if I skated my program well. This ice has brought me luck, tears of happiness were from the fact that all was over. All the emotions I had, expressed in tears."The main mistake in Leonova's free skate was the execution of a double jump instead of a triple in one of her combinations. And, in her own words: "not very good quality of my spins." "Before the start of my free skate program, I didn't know how I would perform with my cold," said Leonova. "I just tried to do everything I can." Replying to a question about the importance of self-control during competition, Leonova noted that "sometimes [my] emotions are overwhelmed." "I tried to control myself as much as possible," she said. Leonova went on to add that her performance at worlds shows "she is no worse than many of my rivals." She will continue to train in hopes of being named to the national team for the Sochi Olympics.
"The big advantage for me is that every season I go up to a higher level," said Leonova. "I think I will feel comfortable among all our young skaters like Adelina Sotnikova and Elizaveta Tuktamisheva."She plans to work to learn new complex combinations, as well as work on her stamina.
"I must learn new difficult and complex combinations of jumps because many ladies already execute them at a very high level. I'm sure that I can do the same."Last month I tried to do a combination with a flip and I did it, so I will continue this work. Also, I need to continue to work on the stability of my performances. At the moment not everything is well with it."
