(02/27/2010) - Ever since news broke that the mother of figure skater Joannie Rochette died in Vancouver of a heart attack six days ago, Rochette has been receiving countless well wishes from athletes and fans from around the world.

Among those who have reached out to her are none other than Canadian superstar singer Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil. The couple sent flowers to Rochette, who earned a bronze medal in the women's figure skating competition at these Olympics.

"It's a strange coincidence, because I had prepared my gala exhibition skate [set for Saturday] to Madonna's song, 'Die Another Day.' Even before hearing about Celine's flowers, I had decided to change my program and skate to her song, 'Vol,' ('Flight'). It touches me even more. My mother loved Celine Dion, and she always sang along.''
