"This is a fun and pretty special event for us," Navarro said. "It's held at one of our training rinks, so we get to perform in front of a lot of friends and family. Plus, for better or for worse, it's an event we help organize, so we are very interested in its success."
Money raised will benefit the Figure Skating Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to distribute to U.S. figure skaters to aid their development and participation in national and international competitions.
"The Foundation has done a lot to help skaters defray expenses," Bommentre said. "It's played a huge role in enabling us to continue to compete at a high level."
In addition to Navarro and Bommentre, performers will also include the legendary "Mr. Debonair," Richard Dwyer, who began performing in the Ice Follies as a teenager in 1950 and continued his show career for more than four decades. Other local and national competitors will also be featured.
Tickets for the performance alone are $15; VIP tickets, including cocktails and hor d'oeuvres prior to the event, are $60. Tickets for children are $10. Cocktails begin at 7:30 p.m., and the performance begins at 8:00 p.m. Advance registration is recommended, but tickets will be available at the door.
