(02/19/2008) - Kristi Yamaguchi, the 1992 ladies Olympic champion and 1992 U.S. Figure Skating Champion, will take a turn on the dance floor in the new season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

Announced last night during Dance War, ABC confirmed that Yamaguchi will compete along with Priscilla Presley, Adam Carolla, Marlee Matlin, Shannon Elizabeth, Steve Guttenberg, Monica Seles, Penn Jillette, Mario, Jason Taylor, Cristian De La Fuente and Marissa Jaret Winokur.

The new season of the ABC hit series kicks off with a live season premiere on March 17th.

Six teams will hit the dance floor Monday night, the 17th; while the other six teams dance on March 18. All twelve couples will perform a second routine the following week on March 24th before the first elimination.For the first time in the show's history, two couples' will be voted off during a double elimination.

Viewers can cast votes for their favorite teams via phone on Monday and Tuesday night during and up to thirty minutes after the end of the live competition shows.

Yamaguchi is paired with ballroom dancer Mark Ballas, who was partnered with Sabrina Bryan last season.

Yamaguchi is married to Stanley Cup Champion and Carolina Hurricanes star, Bret Hedican. They have two children.
