(10/26/2007) - Reading, Pa. -- U.S. Figure Skating announced the withdrawal of reigning U.S. pairs champions Brooke Castile and Ben Okolski from Skate America in Reading, Pa. Due to Castile's injured foot, the pair will also miss the upcoming Skate Canada.

"Brooke and Ben had to withdraw from Skate America due to a foot injury," coach Johnny Johns said. "They are very upset that they will not be able to complete at Skate America and Skate Canada, but they will be healthy and ready to go for the U.S. Championships."

The team took home gold from the 2006 Nebelhorn Trophy and placed 12th at the 2007 world championships.

Finland's Kiira Korpi also withdrew from the competition due to illness. Korpi placed seventh at 2006 Skate America in Hartford, Conn.
