The field at 2014 Skate America features U.S. figure skating's two teenage stars, as well as a wily veteran who isn't done competing just yet.

Gracie Gold and Jason Brown are among the entrants at 2014 Skate America, as is Jeremy Abbott, whose inclusion in the field, as well as at the NHK Trophy in November, confirms that the four-time U.S. champion intends to continue his competitive career.

Two-thirds of the United States' 2014 Olympic ice dance team will be in Hoffman Estates, Ill., for the Oct. 24-26 event: Madison Chock and Evan Bates, and Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani. Other Americans at the competition include U.S. bronze medalist Mirai Nagasu and pairs teams Alexa Scimeca and Chris Knierim, and Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier. U.S. Figure Skating has reserved one "TBA" spot at the event in each discipline.

Among the noteworthy international competitors at Skate America are Olympic pairs champions Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov of Russia, Olympic bronze medalist Denis Ten of Kazakhstan, world silver medalist Tatsuki Machida of Japan and reigning two-time world junior champion Elena Radionova of Russia.

Four U.S. ladies will make their Grand Prix Series debuts, the most prominent being U.S. silver medalist and Olympian Polina Edmunds (Cup of China, NHK Trophy). Joining her as Grand Prix Series debutants are Ashley Cain (Cup of China), Vanessa Lam (Rostelecom Cup) and Angela Wang (Rostelecom Cup). Also receiving their first Grand Prix assignments are pairs team Tarah Kayne and Daniel O'Shea (Cup of China, Rostelecom Cup) and reigning world junior ice dance champions Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker (Rostelecom Cup, NHK Trophy).

The new pairs team of DeeDee Leng and Simon Shnapir received two assignments: Rostelecom Cup and NHK Trophy. Shnapir competed in the Grand Prix Series from 2009-13 with his previous partner, Marissa Castelli.

Icenetwork will provide Season Pass subscribers with live coverage of the 2014 Grand Prix Series, including the Grand Prix Final, Dec. 11-14 in Barcelona, Spain. Information about how to purchase the 2014-15 Season Pass will be made available later this summer.
