Olympic champs, 'Idol' king team up for epic show

Hamilton, Lysacek, Hughes, Lipinski among legends slated to perform

Olympic champions and figure skating legends will join American Idol winner Scotty McCreery for Tribute to American Legends of the Ice on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

Hosted by Olympic and two-time world champion Kristi Yamaguchi, along with three-time U.S. champion Michael Weiss, the star-studded show is scheduled to feature performances and special appearances by Evan Lysacek, Sarah Hughes, Tara Lipinski, Brian Boitano, Scott Hamilton, Carol Heiss Jenkins, Tenley Albright, Hayes Jenkins, Dick Button, Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, Sasha Cohen, Nancy Kerrigan, Paul Wylie, Rosalynn Sumners, Kitty Carruthers and Peter Carruthers, and Linda Frattiane.

The event will also showcase 2014 Sochi Winter Games hopefuls Ashley Wagner, Max Aaron, Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir, Gracie Gold, Ross Miner and Agnes Zawadzki.

The show will be broadcast nationally on NBC on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 (2:30-4:30 p.m. ET), two days before the start of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. The show will be posted in its entirety on icenetwork for viewing six months following the initial telecast on NBC.
